I should've stayed up for an extra hour, and looked through the lecture notes on fungi microscopically. All those examples, i should've memorised them. I should have.

But i did not.

Missed opportunity. Moments that are lost, due to accidental negligence. A swift smile, that is rubbed off by fear. Broken relationships, that have been cracked by many lines of reluctant indifference. Places we like, faces we love, but miss. Like seeing a missed train moving back home from afar, all the while wanting to be in it, but can't. Cause it's just a little too late.

Truth is, we can. We can get ourselves into the train, we can get all our wishes come true, we can love and be loved, we can do great things, we can walk on our faith, we can be at the top of the world, if we really really want to. We can.

Egoism. Reluctance. Procrastination. Negligence.

All those things, they limit us from getting our dreams come true, from being the best version of ourselves, from achieving all that we can.

Because some moments, they are once-in-a-life-time. They come to you once, and just once. They're easily missed, most commonly by a quick, accidental slip of hand. A sudden lost of grip. A mistaken let go. A regretted indifference. Moments like these always, always slip easily through your fingers, no matter how narrow the gaps are. And once they're gone, they're lost, forever.

So take heart. In all that you do, take heart.

Be persevered.
